Life will be what we decide, but it is vital to remember that if we want anything done, we must go to work and do: it is of no use merely to talk—none whatever. So to get shit done, do it!

You should enjoy work, so find your thing. Find what you can do and keep up doing and still remain motivated and energized; and then do your best in becoming the best in your thing.

Even if you fail in your efforts, it is a satisfaction to enjoy the consciousness of having done your best.

Reading old books gives me much pleasure due to learning new expressions. I absolutely love by dint of; there is no really good translation of this for me, but I totally get the meaning. Success is the result by dint of: -painstaking labour, -patience and perseverance, -hard labour, -application and industry, -persevering application and energy, patient industry, -sheer industry and perseverance, and -mere industry and patient thinking.

Never be idle, always be thinking. Keep the subject continually before you, and wait till the first dawnings open slowly by little by little into a full and clear light.

This is so true. Always be willing to work, and take pains with your work, no matter how humble it might be. Be an indefatigable worker. Constant repetition is one of the main conditions of success in life.

We should strive for patient and laborious effort, and the diligent cultivation of opportunities through accurate and keen observations.
No observation, however trivial it might appear, and no opportunity of collecting fresh facts should be neglected.
Develop the habit of observation, let it gain a settlement in your mind, become a constant associate of your life, and started as an activity as the first thought of a journey.
Prepare your mind, therefore, like the canvas of a painter, well prepared for the first and best impressions.

Time is the only little fragment of Eternity that belongs to man; and, like life; it can never be recalled.

Make sure to never be idle, always be thinking; time should not be allowed to pass without yield. Study and learn something worthy of being known.
